In 2024, Furst explored various firing techniques to create distinctive surfaces on ceramic forms. This collection features three vases and two taller cups, all salt-fired with abstract surfaces enhanced by colored slips. The designs draw inspiration from nature's elements, including black mangrove seeds, tangled vegetation, and mollusks found in Florida estuaries. Additionally, the two blue cups are part of the Blue Estuary collection, using the same imagery but crafted from porcelain clay and slips. The final three pieces are raku-fired works, showcasing abstract designs achieved through resist techniques and the use of combustible materials.
